"We can confirm that Diouf has signed a five-year deal that will keep him at Anfield until June 2007," a club spokesman said. I joined the Traditonal dance Competition in Jakarta last year. I represented my school. It was my biggest competition. I practised hard with my teacher for a month. We also prepared the best costume we had.
We only had one day in Jakarta. We went there by plane. We left at 6 a.m. and arrived in Jakarta at 7 a.m. We took a taxi to take us to the place where the competition was held . It took an hour to get there. There were already some contestants when we arrived. The competition would start in an hour.
First my teacher and I went to the dressing room. My teacher helped me do the make-up and the costume. We spent almost an hour for the preparation. I told my teacher that I was really nervous. I was not ready for this. However she told me that everything was alright, and I felt better.
Then, the time came to me to perform on stage.There five judges and about two hundred people watching me. However, I did not feel nervous anymore. I perform on the stage confidently. I realy did the best I could. I was glad when it ended well.
After that, we waited for the announcement of the result. It was 4 p.m when the judges finished making the final decision. I was so impatient to hear the result. I still could not believe when they called my name as the first winner. I was so happy to be given the trophy. My teacher was also proud of my achivement. Finally, we went back to Yogyakarta in the evening. We were so tired. However, we were satisfied because our effort was not useless.

GAWAI DAYAK
Gawai Day or Gawai Dayak, is a festival celebrated in Sarawak. It is both a religious and social occasion. Gawai Dayak literally means “Dayak Festival”. Dayak visit their friends and relatives on this day. Those are far away receive greeting cards. The mode of celebrations varies from place to place.
The festival is celebrated on the 1st of June every year. However, it actually starts on the vening of 31stof May. Gawai Dayak celebration may last for several days.
On the evening of 31st of May, the ceremony to cast the greediness spirit away (Muai Antu Rua) is held. Then, offering ceremony (Miring) is conducted. Thanking Gods for the good harvest, guidance, blessings and long life is done through sacrificing cockerel. At midnight spirit welcoming procession (Ngaluh Petara) is held. Then, the celebration gets merrier as people start singing and reading poems.
On the 1stof June, the homes of the Dayak are opened to visitors. Cock-fighting, blowpipe skill demonstration, and Ngajat competitions are held. It is also during this time of the year that many Dayak weddings take place. Today, it is an integral part of Dayak social life. It is a thanksgiving day marking good harvest and a time to plan for the new farming season or activities ahead.

You must have been aware of the growing need to conserve our forest. One of the ways to ensure that fewer trees are cut down is recycling waste paper. This is the reason why our Conversation Club has embarked on our Old Newspaper Collection Campaign.
Perhaps you would be interested in knowing what will happen to your old newspaper after they arrive at the paper recycling center.
Firstly, the old newspapers are soaked in water and then put into the hydropulper. This machine, which has rotating blades, cuts the paper finely into a pulp.
Next, the pulp is fed into the washer. Here, all dirt is washed off. Staples and clips are removed. The pulp is then fed into the chemical tank where bleach is added to it. This whitens the pulp.
After being bleached, the pulp is passed through rollers. All excees wateris now squeezed out of the pulp.This makes the drying process faster. The drying is done in a dryer. The pulp comes out of the dryer as large sheets of paper, which are rolled on spools.
This recycled paper is used for many things, for example, to make cardboard boxes, egg cartons , toilet rolls, poster paper, and even gift wrapping paper. When you consider that you have no further use for your old newspaper, you will be glad to contribute them to our campaign.

Heart disease is one of the most fatal diseases. Heart diseases is usually caused by numerous factors such as high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, smoking (which increases a person’s risk of a heart attack), unhealthy food and drinks, lack of exercise and rest, and stress. However, people can minimize these risk factors if they modify their lifestyle.
Modifying one’s life style to become a healthy lifestyle is not difficult. It can involve doing some simple things in daily life. For example, people can learn to stop smoking, reduce sugar and salt intake and eat less fatty food. They should also learn to eat more vegetables and fruits rather than fast food and snacks.
In addition, it is important to exercise regularly in order to stay fit and healthy. People should exercise for at least 30 minutes per session, three to four times a week. Please take note that people who have not done any exercises before are strongly advised to consult their doctor before starting an exercise program.
Although most of the risk factors mentioned above are manageable, there are still other factors, such as the person’s age, gender, family history and cardiovascular disease that cannot be changed. Nevertheless, it has been proven that people can manage and reduce the risk of heart diseases by having a healthy lifestyle. Take care of your heart, and it will take care of your health.
